  1. First one isn't necessarily true. I've seen at least one indie game that's done incredibly well on its story alone (Undertale).

  4. Okay I have game design in mind, I got through characters, plot, location etc etc.
    But I don't know anything or what I need or who the hell to show it to (I'm pretty slow–)
    Can anyone explain simply how it all works?

  6. i have a game design idea, with actual mechanics that involve multiplayer teams. its not a fps shooter or indie game or a plat former or open world….or linear and it can be done.

  7. I don't give a crap about the back story when deciding whether to play a game. Just tell me about the gameplay.

  8. I really liked hearing that the base of R6 was to create a shooter where twitch reactions didn't matter. This is precisely why I loved those games, my mind is what won games.

    I'd be really interested to hear if they had the IP before or after that concept.

  9. 1. You don't need a publisher.
    2. If you get a publisher, they will ruin your game: Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda etc…

  11. I just came to see what the heck pitch means in this case but literally the first minute bombarded me with these without explanation. Someone harassing this guy? Criticizing? Underpaying?! Bothering?! WHAT, video, what?!

    Hey, it's not me coming here, it was in my damn recommended. So YT probably thinks I understand what's the problem here everyone else is so aware of they use a simple "joker" word that can mean anything. Stuff. Today we'd like to talk to you about stuff. When I saw the stuff coming I couldn't believe what people managed to do with our product. That stuff blew up my mind. Yeah. Stuff. Beware of stuff.

  12. The fact that he was succinct and direct made this very easy to watch. I'm not involved in the game industry, probably never will be, but still feel like I can benefit from this talk somehow, as his advice seems to be applicable in areas other than game pitching.
